Children’s House

3-6 years

The Primary program is truly a gift to your child. Designed for children between the ages of 3 to 6 years, offering joyful hands-on learning for foundational academics, independence, and focus, building self-confidence.

Where foundations are built

Between the ages of three and six, the child’s capacity for concentration and order becomes pronounced. This is the period in which foundational academic, social, and personal structures are formed.

Children’s House is where focus, independence, and academic skills come together.

In this multi-age environment, children develop the habits and abilities that support lifelong learning.

Over time, children develop:

  • A sustained ability to concentrate

  • A precise understanding of academic concepts

  • Independence in both thought and action

  • A natural sense of order and responsibility

These are not imposed outcomes. They are constructed through experience with developmentally appropriate and meaningful activities.

What Children Gain

Children choose meaningful work throughout the day, guided by highly-trained educators who introduce new concepts at the right time. They engage with hands-on materials that isolate specific concepts such as language, mathematics, sensorial refinement, and practical life. AMI schools, like Dynamite Montessori, are required to have a full set of these research-backed materials.

Hands-on materials allow children to explore, problem-solve, repeat, and master skills at their own pace. Each activity builds upon the last, allowing the child to move from concrete experience toward abstract understanding.

Younger children are inspired by watching and interacting with older classmates, while older children flourish as they build confidence, practice leadership, and share their skills and kindness, guiding their younger peers along the way.

How learning happens

A Love of Learning

Because each child is guided according to their interests and individual development, learning becomes something they enjoy, not something they are required to do.

Kindergarten: The Capstone Year

Montessori education builds thoughtfully, year by year, with the three-year Children’s House (Primary) program—including the kindergarten year—ensuring your child’s early foundations fully blossom. Reading, writing, math, and geometry emerge naturally through hands-on exploration, giving children strong academic skills. Equally important, completing the full 3-year-cycle fosters confidence, curiosity, and a lasting love of learning, leaving your child fully prepared to thrive in the Elementary years.

Ready to move up

In the spring, our kindergarten students begin visiting the Elementary classroom, giving them a gentle and exciting introduction to our Elementary Program. When each child is ready—both academically and developmentally—they join the Elementary Program, usually around the age of six, stepping confidently into this next stage of their learning journey.
